About the event
Grindleford, Padley Gorge & Surprise View
Join us for a beautiful 6 mile circular walk starting and finishing at Grindleford Train Station, taking in ancient woodland, wild open moorland, tranquil ponds and some of the most breathtaking views in the Hope Valley.
We’ll begin in the enchanting Padley Gorge, wandering through mixed woodland alongside Burbage Brook as it tumbles over rocks and winds beneath pretty footbridges.
We’ll wander through the National Trust Longshar Estate past a tranquil pond ans take a pause at the Longshaw Visitor Centre and Café,
From here, the route opens out onto Hathersage Moor and across Over Owler Tor and Millstone Edge.before continuing on towards Surprise View quite possibly one of the finest viewpoints in the Hope Valley.
Then we’ll make our way back through the landscape to our starting point at Grindleford Station.
